If you are 20 weeks or later into your pregnancy, we can still see you regardless of your medical history, background, or fetal indications at our office. After 28 weeks it is a case by case basis at the discretion of the physician up to 35 weeks. The abortion procedure is either DE or induction, based pregnancy length. Plan an about 2 hours for day one, 5 hours for day two, and 5 hours for day three. It is recommended to have reliable assisted transportation in place and to stay locally during this procedure.
In some cases, depending on medical history, we may be able to perform the procedure in 2 days, but this is not common. Abortions after 20 weeks are often inaccurately referred to as “late-term abortion” which is a corruption of “late trimester abortion” or “later abortion”. “Late-term abortion” is commonly used in the news media but does not refer to a specific procedure.
Financial assistance is available for those who qualify.
Please contact our office right away and we will be able to answer any specific questions or concerns.
