What to Expect

During Your Visit

An ultrasound will confirm how far along you are.
Medication is used to soften and open the cervix before the procedure.
Gentle suction and medical instruments are used to safely empty the uterus.
Moderate IV sedation is provided for your comfort.
You will rest in our recovery area with attentive nursing care before being discharged after your procedure is complete.

After Your Visit

You can return to most normal activities within a few days. Since you can become pregnant again immediately, we recommend starting birth control right away if you wish to prevent another pregnancy. Your provider can help you find the best option for you.
Follow-up appointment up to 6 weeks after your initial appointment, to ensure the abortion is complete and you are recovering well.
